This is Rita talking about her mate, my character Solomon the German shepherd, in the continuity of my mega-crossover. I use many comparisons. It is short. Enjoy!

Heart Of A Mighty Canine King
Oh, how majestic is he!
Excuse me, we haven't been properly introduced. My name is Rita. I am a stray Sa'luki living on the streets of New York. But this isn't about me. The one I speak of is my mate, Solomon. He is the handsome German shepherd you see sitting up there on the step platform. I adore him, and he adores me. See his size, see what strength rests within him. He is the king of our pack. We go way back, but more on that in a moment.
Looking into his eyes is like looking at a living embodiment of might and power.
Yet, he only uses it for good. Sure, he has fought and defeated, occasionally even killed, enemy dogs, but that was only ever in self-defense, or in defense of me or our pack. This is how it has always been. You see, we have known one another since we were pups. He and I played together, especially games of chase. Of course, he never managed to truly catch me, what with me being a Sa'luki and thus bred to run.
Ah, those were wonderful days.
Now, here we are. He is king and I am his queen and mate. As I always think whenever an enemy challenges him, look upon him, oh foolish one, and despair! His teeth are frighteningly sharp, his muscles strong, and his bark deep and loud. I feel perfectly safe with him. I know that he will never let anyone hurt me.
Such is the heart of this mighty canine king.
